Greg Godlevski, Triangle MicroWorks
This tutorial will provide a high level overview of IEEE 1815, how to design and implement IEEE 1815 systems to achieve interoperability and efficiency, and how to integrate with IEC 61850. Specific case studies will also be discussed. Topics include: IEEE 1815 overview; how to use the IEEE 1815 Device Profile to specify and compare devices; configuration considerations to achieve maximum interoperability and achieve maximum efficiency of operation; and how to avoid common mistakes. Interoperability with IEC 61850 will also be discussed. The course concludes with case studies of actual implementations. Attendees are encouraged to submit “real world” scenarios (success stories and/or problematic installations) for inclusion.
